MEET ANIA

BERKELEY BAY AREA BIRTH & DOCUMENTARY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

Ania Zimnoch is a birth and family photographer who specializes in the documentary approach. The beautifully raw, unscripted moments Ania captures reveal the essence of family. She lays bare the everyday moments we are often too busy to savor. Kisses on foreheads. Pulling warm socks on feet. Wet dog tongues on ruddy cheeks. Finger painting on paper canvases. Tender glances between parents as they wipe away tears. Living room forts, Grandpa’s creased hands reaching to help, and reading books together before naptime. What emerges from these moments is a story of time and place and relationship that is fundamentally true to who we are - joyful giggles, scraped knees, runny noses and all.

The days go by with so many little things that don’t seem to matter until they’re no longer there and suddenly, they are all that ever mattered.
—Brian Andreas

Ania grew up in Poland and has lived in the United States since she was nineteen. When she was young, her father documented his children’s untamed and unplugged lives. His photos only captured his family’s neatly combed hair on special occasions; but what is more, the images tell the honest story of who they were and how they lived and loved together, at that time. Ania continues this tradition with her daughter and photographs the magic of their remarkable, ordinary life.

The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.
—Ritu Ghatourey

Ania offers A Day In The Life, maternity, newborn, birth and vacation photography sessions for families who wish to document their lives. She wants to capture special moments that make their clients’ stories unique. She aims to freeze this time of their life in photos and preserve the memories that they can go back to time and time again.

Forever is composed of nows.

IT IS ONE THING TO PHOTOGRAPH PEOPLE. IT IS ANOTHER TO MAKE OTHERS CARE ABOUT THEM BY REVEALING THE CORE OF THEIR HUMANNESS.
