I had a great pleasure to photograph a young family of four in Albany CA. They have recently welcomed baby #2 and wanted a photoshoot with both of their daughters in the picture. And since they are thinking of moving back to Israel, they wanted a slice of their American life documented. They were the sweetest and the love they had for their two little girls just melted my heart. As some of you know, life with a newborn and a toddler can be hectic but they navigated the waters very well. Baby Tamar had the first taste of solid food that day and Yuval helped to make a cake after breakfast.
In the afternoon I followed them playing with their kids, having dinner, bath time and putting the girls to sleep. They say the days are long but the years are short when you have little ones and this shoot reminded me of that. The day was hectic but fun and the parents divided and conquered different tasks together. What these pictures show is that they have a strong family core, they manage to have fun even tho there is so much to tend to.
They wanted a Day In the Life shoot to freeze their family life in America, as they prepare their exit and return to Israel. These pictures will forever be a reminder of their daily routine as a fresh family of four, where they lived, what they did and how much they loved each other. When the girls grow up, they’ll have a physical proof of what their family life looked like when they were little. And that is the mission of this kind of shoot - to freeze a memory that you can go back to over and over again.
